My recipe is for ‘Bendy Eggs’. In A Perfect Distraction, Maggie doesn’t like to cook, but she often makes ‘Bendy Eggs’ as a special breakfast treat for her daughter, Emily. Naturally, Maggie ends up making it for Jake too. :)

‘Bendy Eggs’ are a poor man’s version of Eggs Benedict (my favourite!):
2 eggs
4 strips of bacon
1 English muffin
Cream cheese
1. Toast the English muffin and spread a generous helping of cream cheese on each half.
2. Cook the bacon strips and lay two on each half.
3. Fry or poach the eggs, then place on top of the bacon on each half
4. Voila - Bendy Eggs!

A Perfect Distraction
A face-off—head vs. heart
For Jake Badoletti, this year is all about his career. He has a rare second chance to make the most of being a pro hockey player, so no parties, no scandals. Too bad he's met a woman who could sideline those plans. Maggie Goodman is not his usual type—right down to being a single mom. Still, the sizzling connection with this gorgeous brunette can't be ignored.
With a little juggling and a lot of focus, Jake manages to have the game and Maggie. Then his performance on the ice suffers and a scandal erupts. Now he can't afford the distraction of Maggie…even if she is perfect for him.

Thanks for letting me visit, Dee, and share my recipe for Bendy Eggs! :)
Anna, congratulations on A PERFECT DISTRACTION - it should hit me this week when I'm sure it will distract me! Love the recipe - I've never made eggs benedict, couldn't face the hollandaise conundrum. This seems like a perfect alternative!
OMG! Cream cheese, bacon, eggs - this sounds wonderful and even better - easy peasy! I'm going to try it.
Must say that Emily is one lucky daughter. My mom's idea of making breakfast was to put a selection of cold cereals and a jug of milk on the table :-)
Hey Donna, at least there was a SELECTION :D
I've never had real Eggs Benedict and am just coming to appreciate a good poached egg...even if I can't do it.
But let's talk about something else yummy..Jake!!!! I haven't been to a LOT of hockey games (Louisville had a minor league one once for about 2 years) but found I LOVED a good fight/scrapple on the ice....:D Can't wait to read this
Hi Anna!
Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast, and I've had all kinds of versions, but I've never successfully made good hollandaise so don't make it at home. That sauce is one I SO want to master, but I haven't taken the time. I will definitely try this, and I love the name. Bendy Eggs. *grin*
Hi Anna
I will have to try this one out I have never had eggs benedict before don't know why LOL but this sounds great. Huge congrats on the release of this awesome story I so loved Jake and Maggie's story :)
Have Fun
Helen
Thanks, Anna C - I hope it will be a perfect distraction ;) On the other hand, I know you're busy with the next book, so I don't want to distract you too much!
Looking forward to my copy of A Rake's Midnight Kiss arriving this week!
That's exactly my view on Eggs Benedict - hence the cream cheese :)
It is easy-peasy, Donna :) And so yummy. I often make this as dinner when I can't be bothered to cook properly.
We tended to get the cereal and milk as well, though it is quite an English tradition to have the big Sunday breakfast.
Thanks, Joanie - and you know yummy heroes with your Romans series. I have Barbarian's Soul downloaded and ready to read :)
I must say, I am rather partial to Jake ;)
A good Eggs Benedict is sublime. Try it next conference!
Thanks, Cassondra! I know what you mean about not being able to master really good hollandaise - I'm sure once you get the knack it's easy, but it's taking the time to master the art that I can't seem to manage either.
Hi Helen! Thanks so much for stopping by! And for loving Maggie and Jake's story!
I can definitely recommend trying Eggs Benedict next time you want a breakfast treat. Whenever we're away somewhere, I always treat myself ;)
Ooh, I love Eggs Benedict, Anna! This sounds like a great compromise because making hollandaise defeats me most of the time. Really looking forward to reading A PERFECT DISTRACTION!
Anna! I love eggs Benedict, but I'm thinking you Bendy Eggs might just be even better! Can't wait to read A Perfect Distraction! It sound so good.
Thanks Christina! Yes, Bendy Eggs really are a great compromise - you feel like you're eating something special, but without the stress!
Hey Suz! The other great thing about Bendy Eggs is that they can be healthier too ... Low fat cream chees ;) and maple smoked bacon really gives them a nice taste.
Oh, yummmyyyyyyy!!! Anna, this looks delish, and could easily be made vegetarian with veggie bacon. I'm going to have to try it. Thanks so much :-)
Congrats on your release, Anna! Whooot!! Love your Bendy Eggs recipe. I usually just do a toasted bagel with cream cheese and bacon for a quick breakfast.
My fave is my husband's french toast. He was playing in a tourney today, so I tried making it myself with his secret, special recipe. Not nearly as good!
Thanks, Tawny - great idea about the veggie bacon (who knew there was such a thing?!) Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by, Jo! Ooh - love french toast ... will have to get your hubby to share his secret special recipe with my hubby ;)
Sounds tasty
